In collaboration with Tampa Electric Company (TECO), FleischmanGarciaMaslowski (FG+M) Architecture designed a cutting-edge 4,500 sq. ft. Clean Energy Demonstration Center, strategically located on the grounds of the renowned Big Bend Manatee Viewing Center, it serves as an environmental stewardship and technological advancement.
The design philosophy of the TECO Clean Energy Demonstration Center merges practicality with beauty. The ground level beckons visitors with a vast, open space, inviting them on a journey of exploration. On the upper floor, you’ll discover a cozy, enclosed area housing essential amenities, including restrooms, a cutting-edge lab, storage facilities, an MEP/Control Room, and exhibit spaces. Step out onto the expansive observation deck and enjoy the panoramic views.
A vital aspect of the center’s design is its commitment to accessibility and integration with the surrounding environment — a 12’-0″ W ramped boardwalk winds through the landscape, offering an inclusive experience for all visitors. Meanwhile, a crushed shell path invites exploration, encouraging guests to immerse themselves in the scenic vistas that grace the site.
