Mark Bostic Golf Clubhouse at UF

During his college days, Sol Fleischman played many rounds of golf at the University of Florida Golf Course. Over a quarter century later, his firm, FleischmanGarciaMaslowski, was selected by the University of Florida to design the new golf clubhouse at the University's golf course now known as the Mark Bostic Golf Course.

The golf clubhouse was designed to serve the needs of UF students and alumni playing golf, and to entertain alumni and golf team recruits. A large entertainment deck dominates the second floor which features spectacular views over the course, a glassed reception lobby, administrative offices, and golf team locker rooms. The ground floor has a large golf shop/dining area, a fully equipped snack bar and public locker rooms.

The 2 story building was designed in a contemporary interpretation of the historic University Gothic architecture on campus. It is constructed of deep orange brick with a royal blue metal roof—the colors of the University of Florida. The Clubhouse has proven to be a well-used and important facility for faculty, student, and alumni affairs.

FleischmanGarciaMaslowski was later retained by the University to design an addition and complete renovations to the golf clubhouse. These improvements included 9,970 sq. ft. of new construction, the addition of two assistant coachs' offices, two new team meeting rooms, and the expansion of the snack bar dining area. In addition, restrooms and locker rooms were upgraded and made more accessible.
