FleischmanGarciaMaslowski (FG+M) Architectures historical restoration and addition of The West Tampa Public Library was designed in three carefully planned phases:
- Phase 1: Preserving the library’s exterior, covering 2,800 sq. ft., involved meticulous restoration of brick, stone, and a new roof.
- Phase 2: Blending past and present, a 5,000 sq. ft. addition integrated with the original design through a glass connector. An elevator enhanced accessibility.
- Phase 3: The literary collection and staff were smoothly relocated. FG+M transformed the original library into a vibrant community gathering space, and the windows and interior were historically restored.
This restoration beautifully merges heritage with modernity, celebrating the past while enriching the present.
