FleischmanGarciaMaslowski (FG+M) Architecture is working with the Tampa Metropolitan YCMA on the design of their state-of-the-art facility in Tampa Heights. The project is part of the Tampa Heights YMCA masterplan, which creates an active development with retail, multi-family units, office space, a hotel, and parking, all organized around a central ‘green paseo.’
The new YMCA is a 60,000 sq. ft., four-story facility. It includes multipurpose spaces, a youth center, studios, a wellness center, an indoor gymnasium, locker rooms, an aquatic center, and a rooftop training deck. The building is organized around four-story wellness stairs. The wellness stairs face Florida Avenue and the rest of the development, activating the facility and creating an inviting connection.
